I AM DEFINITELY BLAMING H!!!!
Title: Completely Unsurprised.
Fandom: Britannia High.
Rating: PG.
Word Count: 553.
Summary: Jez makes a move, no-one is surprised.
Notes: Unbetaed - might be edited tomorrow. Just a bit of fun because I don’t believe you could write anything else in this fandom. Basically everything I write in this fandom, and I do suspect there'll be more is for H, cos she's going to be the one consoling me when I realise Melchior is being played by some Welsh dude not MJT!
Jez knows this is the absolutely the wrong thing to do, it’s more than that it’s the worst thing he could possibly do, but that doesn’t stop him doing it.
He reaches across the dinner table and grabs BB’s pink shirt and pulls him towards him. Then his lips are on BB’s and Lola is gaping, Claudine and Danny are giggling and Lauren sighs “finally”.
When Jez pulls away from BB he looks at BB apologetically, then at Lauren, puzzled.
“I really thought you two were going to graduate without that happening” Lauren says matter of factly and goes back to reading her book.
Jez glances at Danny and Claudine who have stopped giggling and gone back to cooing over each other. Lola’s mouth is still open. “Oh come on Lola, it’s not like you’ve never seen two guys kiss before, it’s not like you’ve never seen me kiss another bloke before, only this time it just happens to be BB I’m kissing.”
“What? Sorry, what are you talking about? Who’s kissing who?” Lola’s eyes don’t move and Jez slowly turns his head. There’s a girl on the other side of the cafeteria who’s wearing the same top and skirt combination as Lola, which given it’s Lola is both shocking and a calamity on the same scale as genocide and famine.
“Soooo, not me and BB snogging that bothers you then?” Jez isn’t going to admit how that’s more than a little disappointing, well he is a drama student attention is what he lives for.
“What? Oh no, I thought you two had been doing it for ages!” Lola throws at him in her typically dizzy manner, “I have to run home and change.”
“So, Lola’s distressed by fashion, Lauren’s more interested in whether Lizzie picks Wickham or Darcy even though she already knows and Danny and Claudine are busy making goo goo eyes at each other. So I guess that just leaves me and my little old opinion, right?” BB’s tone is half anger and half amusement and Jez feels more than a little uneasy.
“So come on Jez, ask me my opinion. I want to talk about my feelings, ‘specially my feelings on being accosted over the dinner table by my best friend.” The anger is ebbing and the amusement is spilling over and making BB’s eyes sparkle and the corner of his mouth turn up slightly.
“Umm… sorry?” Jez stares at BB for a little while before adding “I just, it’s our last week here before summer and you know I harbour cafeteria sex fantasies and well, I figured of all the chaps in the vicinity you were least likely to punch me.” Jez shrugs his shoulders apologetically.
“Woah, woah, woah. First that is way more information than I needed about your bad self and second I’m kinda insulted man, I mean, really you only kissed me cos I was least likely to punch you? That’s cold bro.” BB is outright grinning now.
“Wait a moment, you’re not mad are you.” More statement than question.
“Nah man, I’m not mad.”
“Right then, well pucker up.” Jez grins brightly at BB and BB doesn’t have a moment to react before Jez is fisting his hand in his shirt and pulling him back across the table. Around them no-one bats an eye.

I think I might have created a universe for these guys in my head, cos right now I'm writing about them in their third year and this could conceivably be part of the same universe as the other fic, and I kinda want to fill in the blanks and OMG THIS CANNOT BE THE FANDOM WHERE I HAVE MY OWN AU/FUTURE WORLD!!!! WTF?! It's eaten my brain. You realise you're going to have to suffer through a lot, I mean A LOT of BH squee in Jan right?

AU/Future world YAY! I fully support this! Would they have a third year though? I assumed they were essentially in Sixth Form (I guess because I thought Britannia High as in High School?) so it would only be two years. But then I am very good at missing stuff like this being explained in series so perhaps I wasn't paying attention?
Also you should not blame the Welsh bloke who'll be playing Melchior for not being MJT. Very few people in the world are MJT! And Welsh bloke might be good! Lol.

Well, I was working off the fact I didn't realise they were supposed to be 16/17 when they I started watching so I assumed it was a regular performing arts school, like Guildhall which does offer 3 year programmes, like a regular uni and since I think the series' timeline is totally weird, a 3 month anniversary and all that happening before it?! I just picked a 3 year course.
I'm sure the Welsh bloke'll be great but I shall still mourn the not being MJT thing ;D
